Cardiff under-18 ring the changes ahead of RGC visit

Pathway | 22nd January 2022

Cardiff under-18 have made a host of changes for Sunday’s Regional Age Grade Championship clash against RGC at Cardiff Arms Park (KO 2.30pm).

The Blue and Blacks kicked off their campaign with a hard fought victory over Ospreys on Wednesday, but a short turnaround sees head coach Chadd Mutyambizi making a total of eight changes to the starting line up.

Tom Caple will once again captain the side, but switches to the back row, joining Cardiff and Vale College team-mate Harper Chamberlain on the flanks. Kian Evans is introduced at number eight, replacing last week’s Player of the Match, Luca de la Rua.

Jack Payne comes in to combine with Rhys Burleton at lock, while there are two further changes in the front row. Millfield loosehead, Ioan Emmanuel, wears the number one jersey while Gavin Parry - who came off the bench at Aberavon during the week - slots in at hooker.

Orson James and Jacob Symes continue their partnership at half back, but Ethan Rudyj is introduced at outside centre after being ruled out of the mid-week win over Ospreys.

A new-look back three of Ioan Evans, Dan Nzamba and Matty Young completes the starting line-up. Nzamba makes his debut at this level, having scored three for the under-17 side in an impressive summer campaign.

Evan Wood, Harrison Bellamy, Liam Jones, Harri Wilde and Zach Wall are all set for their first involvements of the campaign from the bench.
