With the rain saying away for most of the day the Cardiff Blues kicked off their summer event programme with a fun-packed visit to the Tafwyl Festival

Over 8,000 people visited the festival and hundreds of lucky youngsters had the chance to play Tag rugby with Blues players Thomas Young, Gavin Evans, Jamie Roberts and Macauley Cook. The players then sat down to meet and greet supporters in front of the Blues stand and sign autographs and pose for photos.

It was the first time the family friendly festival was held in the grounds of Cardiff Castle and the Blues visit certainly proved popular with young supporters.

Eight-year-old Jac Davies of Penylan said,

“It was great to meet all the players and I also had my photo taken with Jamie Roberts and Gavin Evans.”

“I’m looking forward to seeing them play again next season and I’m really excited about it especially after playing tag rugby with them.”

The Blues will continue their summer events programme with visits to the Royal Welsh Show in July and National Eisteddfod in August.
