Cardiff Blues injury update | January

First Team News | 11th January 2020

Fly-half Jarrod Evans continues to progress through the concussion return to play protocols after failing a head injury assessment in the loss to Scarlets.

Owen Lane was not considered for selection against Leicester Tigers this weekend as a precaution due to a minor knee complaint.

James Botham (hamstring), Kristian Dacey (foot) and Rory Thornton (wrist) are all making good progress in their rehabilitation, with a view to return to action mid February.

Long-term injuries

Ellis Jenkins continues his rehabilitation following the significant knee injury he suffered playing for Wales against South Africa.

Jenkins is progressing well in the rehabilitation process, however a long-term approach is being taken on the flanker’s return to play. This is to ensure he returns in optimal condition with the player’s long term fitness and welfare the priority.

Willis Halaholo is now six-weeks post-surgery to repair an acute ACL injury. The centre has begun his rehabilitation programme with a view to return to action at the beginning of next season.
