The first ever Cardiff Blues’ match against Leicester Tigers on Friday 22nd August will see the two sides contesting the bmibaby Challenge Cup.

The match takes place at the Arms Park, with the two-time, former European Cup winners expected to provide a stern test for the new regional entity.

Following this announcement, it is expected that the low-cost carrier, which operates from four regional airports across the UK, will confirm the continuation of their sponsorship deal with the Cardiff Blues for the new season.

The last time the Tigers visited the Arms Park, in August 2000, they were defeated 29-17 by a Cardiff team including seven players now in the Cardiff Blues squad.
