Coach Richard Hodges insists Cardiff Blues 7s are ready to embrace the challenge of Series Final day after they topped Group A of the Premiership Rugby 7s on their own turf in the competition's first-ever Welsh leg.
Blues and Newport Gwent Dragons will be at The Stoop on Friday, August 8 but it was Blues who will go as Welsh champions after a dramatic final match of the round at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park - drawing 19-19 through a last-ditch penalty try to emerge group victors.
Both regions now look to down the finest 7s teams the Aviva Premiership has to offer and Hodges sees no reason why his side, who were led by Richard Smith, cannot bring back the silverware.
"It would be great if one of the Welsh sides could win the whole competition," he said. "The English sides will be playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday so we will have our laptops out to do a bit of analysis and see who's in our pool.
"But we'll look forward to the challenge and embrace it as it's good exposure for the boys and the region and it's a concept that we've grabbed with both hands so we now want to go to the Stoop and win it."
