Blues on Tour: World Club 10s Draw

Cardiff Blues jet off on tour to Southeast Asia next week to take part in the inaugural World Club 10s in Singapore- and today event organisers have revealed the pools and tournament schedule.

The World Club 10s will be the first international sports event held at the new 55,000-seater National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub on Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22.

Blues have taken up an invite to compete in the competition and will announce a 16-man tour party later this week.

The official tournament draw took place today (Wednesday) and Blues will compete in Pool B alongside the Brumbies, Asia Pacific Dragons – an invitational squad of the fiercest players throughout Asia and the Pacific Islands - and Petrarca Rugby.

Pool A will see Auckland Blues, Biarritz, London Welsh and Samoa Water Presidents 10s all compete.

Each day will run from 9am to early evening and is focused around a series of 20 minute rugby matches, including 12 Pool matches on the Saturday and 12 Knockout matches on the Sunday.

Blues kick-off on Saturday, June 21 when they face The Asia Pacific Dragons at 12.09pm.

The second game will see Blues tackle Petrarca Rugby (kick-off 3.18pm) before they complete proceedings on the opening day with the final game in Pool B and a clash with Super 15 giants the Brumbies (kick-off 6.24pm).
