Following on from the success of the Cardiff Blues open training session held earlier in the season in the Rhondda, the Blues will be holding their next open training session in Brecon on Monday at 11am, in Christ College, Brecon

In September hundreds of school children attended Penygraig RFC where the Blues held a training session with children and teachers looking on. After the training session the players were able to meet all the children with free posters being handed out for autographs.

At the Brecon event, junior fans will again be able to watch the Blues carry out a training session to see what it really takes to make it as a top rugby player. After the session players will be on hand to meet supporters, sign autographs and pose for photos. The Blues shop will also be at the event with a stall selling pocket money gifts along with tickets for Blues v London Irish match on Friday 1st February, which are priced at only £1 for juniors!

The training session will begin on the rugby field at 11:00am and all schools from Powys are invited to join us from this time. The Blues will be training until 12:15pm when we will move to the Christ College Sports Hall for a meet and greet with the players. Junior fans can get autographs from some of their favourite Blues players.

Steve Maggs, Development Director at Christ College, said:

“We’re really looking forward to welcoming the Cardiff Blues to Christ College Brecon. It’s a great opportunity for our pupils, and indeed the pupils of others schools in this part of the region, to watch the Blues’ coaching team and players in action. We think our facilities here at Christ College lend themselves perfectly for an event such as this and we are looking forward to working with the Blues to make the event a memorable one for all concerned.”
