Coach David Young is hoping to announce an unchanged team for the third week running when the Blues meet Sale Sharks on Saturday at Cardiff Arms Park (3.00pm)

“The team deserve a vote of confidence again,” he said, “but we are waiting for the result of a fitness test on Andy Moore and Gareth Williams has also been ill this week. Iestyn Harris’ back muscle problem is on the mend and I am hoping to include him in the 22.”

Young has named a squad of 24 at this stage but intends finalising the starting line-up and replacements at the team run-out on Friday morning.

The game will be the fiftieth played by Cardiff and Cardiff Blues since the competition started in November 1995. A presentation will be made by ERC in recognition of the club and region joining an elite group of seven sides to have reached the half-century mark.

At Saturday’s match, the final game in this season’s Heineken Cup for both sides, the Blues hope to introduce to the crowd new signing, the Wallaby World Cup flanker, Matt Cockbain.
