Cardiff have discovered their opponents for the 2026/27 Investec Champions Cup pool stage, with the Blue & Blacks set for an exciting campaign against Bath, Northampton Saints, Montpellier Hérault Rugby and Stade Français Paris during the club’s historic 150th season.

The draw sets up a series of heavyweight clashes against some of Europe’s most established clubs, with Cardiff placed in a competitive Pool Four that promises high-quality fixtures throughout the pool stage.
Cardiff have also been drawn in the same pool as our URC opposition the Bulls. However, as teams from the same domestic competition cannot face each other during the pool stage, the two sides will not meet.
English Premiership champions Northampton Saints are joined by fellow Premiership heavyweights Bath, while Top 14 finalists Montpellier and semi-finalists Stade Français add a distinctly French challenge, ensuring a fascinating mix of styles for Cardiff to navigate.
The pool stage will see Cardiff face each of their four eligible opponents once, either home or away. Fixture scheduling will now be determined by EPCR following the draw, with the full calendar, including dates, venues, kick-off times and broadcast details, to be confirmed later this month.
As outlined by EPCR, fixture planning takes into account each club’s domestic calendar, venue availability and broadcast requirements, which are processed through an algorithm designed to deliver the optimum fixture schedule following the pool draw.
Cardiff will now begin preparations for a demanding European campaign as the Blue & Blacks return to one of club rugby’s most prestigious competitions.
