Be A Hero Give Blood For Wales

21st April 2003

Welsh Rugby often brings out the patriotism in all of us ,and win or lose we’re always proud to cheer on those “hero’s” who represent our country on the pitch.

However, there are thousands of unsung hero’s who help Wales off the pitch and save lives – blood donors.

The need for blood is constant and ongoing – it is not just accidents and emergencies that demand blood. Patients with Cancer and Leukaemia need regular blood transfusions, often every week; and premature babies often need blood transfusions, sometimes even before they are born and still in the womb.

The Welsh Blood Service needs to collect nearly 700 units of blood every day for the hospitals in Wales, and it is only with the support of regular blood donors that we can achieve this. So be a hero and GIVE BLOOD FOR WALES!

ARE YOU CONVINCED? DO YOU WANT TO ENROL AS A BLOOD DONOR TODAY? – YOU CAN!

Look out for our recruitment team at the Cardiff v Llanelli match on 23rd May at the Arms Park. They will be enrolling new blood donors. If you miss us and want to enrol as a donor or even if you are already a donor and want to find out where you can donate, you can contact us on freephone 0800 252266 or log on to us at www.welsh-blood.org.uk
