Assiratti wants Cardiff crowd to bring their voice on Saturday

First Team News | 14th December 2023

Prop Keiron Assiratti is calling on the Cardiff crowd to ‘bring their voice’ when the Blue & Blacks face Bath Rugby on Saturday.

With Bath in fine form this year, Assiratti is aware of the dangers the Premiership side bring but wants the help of the Cardiff faithful to spur his team on to combat the English side.

“We know the threats they bring. It’s going to be a good occasion Saturday night,” said Assiratti.

“The crowd to be fair has been very good here. We need them again on Saturday so hopefully they can bring their voice and cheer us on.

“They spur us on in the game, especially when we're fighting and defending, going for a big scrum.

“It's good to hear them. We need to meet fire with fire really, meet them head on.”

Cardiff were defeated by French Champions Toulouse on the weekend, but rather than dwell on the result, Assiratti wants the young team to learn from the experience in France.

“It's a good experience out there. It's French rugby, it's different, completely different to what we experience here. The crowd, the atmosphere was non-stop.

“Even though the score didn’t go our way, the experience for everyone was just incredible. It's not really intimidating, it's more enjoying it.

“We've got a really young team, it's good for us all to experience that. We're just going to learn from it now.”
