Anscombe called into World Cup squad

28th September 2015

Cardiff Blues fly half Gareth Anscombe has today (Monday) been called into the Welsh squad for the Rugby World Cup.

Anscombe – who has scored 114 points in 17 appearances for Cardiff Blues since making his debut last November – was initially released from the Wales squad in August after suffering an ankle injury.

However, the 24-year-old has since returned to full fitness and has now been called up by Wales Head Coach Warren Gatland following injuries suffered in the victory over England on Saturday evening.

Everyone at Cardiff Blues wishes Gareth the best of luck with Wales where he joins up with regional team-mates Sam Warburton, Gethin Jenkins, Alex Cuthbert and Lloyd Williams.
