Throughout this season, at each and every home game, we will be celebrating ‘A Hero Among Us’ at half-time.
Kicking off with Gareth Davies an integral part of our Visually Impaired team and programmes, the initiative is designed to celebrate local rugby heroes, who go above and beyond to participate, facilitate, organise and promote the game and values we all love.
Today, we celebrate and thank Belinda Davies, who is being recognised for her long-term support and self sacrifice for the community around her.
Belinda, who is the wife of Beton Bauen managing director Steve Davies, spent her own career as a Special Educational Needs teacher in South Wales.
Following this, she turned her attention to those in the community around her, first family and friends and then employees of Baton Bauen.
She has frequently opened her doors to family members and friends, providing a home in times of need and continues to offer mental health and financial support and advice to Baton Bauen employees.
Further to this, she supports Beton Bauen’s social enterprise sponsorship and charitable work. The company currently sponsors Cardiff Rugby, Caerphilly RFC, Taffs Well RFC, Senghenydd RFC, and Waunarwlydd RFC, as well as Ely Rangers FC, Mumbles Rangers FC and White Cross Cricket Club.
If you think you know someone deserving of this award – whether a long-serving kit man, who runs on with the magic sponge, to a fundraising extraordinaire or someone who battles adversity every day, please feel free to nominate them by completing the form here.
