While Max Llewellyn did not follow in his father, Gareth’s, footsteps in packing down in the second row, he certainly inherited his genetics, with the centre standing at 6ft 4in.
He couldn’t have picked a bigger stage to make his league debut, making an appearance from the bench at Principality Stadium against Ospreys in the 2018 Judgement Day.
Since then, Llewellyn became a regular feature for Wales under-20 and Cardiff RFC. However, towards the second half of the 2019/20, the academy graduate was handed opportunities in John Mulvihill’s side and duly impressed in his cameos against the likes of Ospreys, Edinburgh and Calvisano.
Llewellyn continued his progression under Dai Young, enjoying a good run of form towards the end of 21/22 and starting the following campaign in the number 12 jersey.
