He came to England from Zimbabwe to spend a gap year teaching at Clifton College. Whilst playing for Clifton he quickly came to the attention of the Bristol selectors and joined the playing staff in 1995. Perhaps suffered through being too versatile (he could play wing, fly half and scrum half) and often featured on the bench. Moved to Neath in late 2001 before joining Cardiff.
