Aled Brew

<Cardiff Blues signed Aled Brew from the Ospreys in the spring of 2008. Brew, 21, rejoined the Ospreys ahead of the 2007-2008 season after spending the previous season on loan with the Newport Gwent Dragons, in which he linked up with his brother Nathan. Brew notched up 31 appearances and scored a highly impressive 16 tries fro the Dragons; he also finished as joint top try-scorer in the European Challenge Cup. Aled has represented Wales at U16, U18 and U21 levels, as well as appearing in the Wales Sevens. He was called into Wales's squad for the 2007 RBS Six Nations, making his senior debut as a replacement in the match against Ireland. Brew was also named as part of Gareth Jenkins's squad for the two-Test tour of Australia in May 2007; he gained his second Welsh cap in the second Test defeat in Brisbane. Brew, after returning from Australia, was named in Gareth Jenkins's 41-man preliminary Rugby World Cup 2007 summer training squad in June but failed to make the final cut for the tournament. He represented Wales Sevens in the first two stages of the 2007 - 2008 IRB Sevens World Series, in Dubai and George, South Africa, where the team won the Bowl trophy in the latter leg.
