Back row star Josh Navidi was rewarded for his eye-catching season as he grabbed an awards double at Cardiff Blues.
Navidi – who has played 27 games in all competitions for Blues this season and countless man-of-the-match awards – was honoured in the end-of-season awards for the region following the conclusion of the Guinness PRO12 match with Zebre.
For the second successive season, Navidi was named as the Peter Thomas Player-of-the-Season and handed his trophy by Gareth Edwards.
Navidi was also recognised by his peers as his team-mates voted him the Players’ Player-of-the-Season, in the award sponsored by DS Smith.
Other winners on the day included Garyn Smith who was named the Most Promising Player-of-the-Season just moments after scoring a last minute try against Zebre.
Smith – who has broken into the first team at Blues to make nine senior appearances this season – will be representing the region at the World Under-20 Championships in Italy next month.
The final award was the Academy Player-of-the-Season and that was won by Liam Belcher. The young hooker made his senior debut this season in the LV=Cup.
