High Motive have been unveiled as the official partner of Cardiff Blues’ new temporary training centre.
With the Arms Park currently out of action due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the subsequent role the stadium is playing in the Dragon’s Heart Hospital, a new temporary training ground was required.
This was confirmed as Pentwyn Leisure Centre last month and long-standing sponsors High Motive have now thrown their support behind the project.
The radio communication and safety equipment company have been a partner of Cardiff Blues for several seasons and will now provide state-of-the-art equipment to the region to ensure every possible precaution is taken for the squad’s return to training.
A thermal temperature scanner, security lodge and a sterilisation unit has already been installed at the entrance to the new training centre to ensure Wales’ Capital Region are taking every possible precaution.
Stuart Rix, senior engineer , said: “We have been working with Cardiff Blues for a number of years and are delighted to provide further support and expertise during this challenging time.
“The vast majority of our business is in relation to the railway industry and we knew some of the safety equipment and sterilisation processes we use would be really beneficial to the Blues.
“We are living in very different times now to a few months ago and if providing this equipment can help our region get back to training and ultimately on the pitch then that is brilliant.
“It is impossible at this time to eradicate the threat of coronavirus, however we can put numerous precautionary measures in place to help prevent it and we are delighted to play our part in helping the Blues.”
With the squad returning in small groups for limited conditioning as they build towards a resumption of full training next month, a substantial amount of work has taken place to ensure all Cardiff Blues employees, their families and the wider community stay safe.
This is one just part of the health and safety process to tackle Covid-19 and Cardiff Blues head coach John Mulvihill is grateful for the support of High Motive.
He added: “High Motive have been a great partner of ours over the years and they have been an enormous assistance once again as we prepare for a return to rugby.
“Whether it is the infrared temperature scanners or the sterilisation unit that allows us to sterilise and safely store equipment, it is hugely beneficial to us.
“We are doing everything we can to ensure the safety and wellbeing of not only our squad and staff but our families and the wider community and High Motive have been a great help in this.”
High Motive have played a key role in the community throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, providing local companies, GP surgeries and community causes with Personal Protective Equipment, respiratory apparatus and sterilisation units.
